Summary
Lucidworks is looking for outstanding Sales Engineers to support a growing sales staff and work closely with our Enterprise Sales Managers to effectively introduce our technology – and its compelling value proposition – to prospective customers.

Sales Engineers will provide technical expertise and sound advice to stakeholders spanning all levels of the customer organization to enable well-informed decisions about technology selection and adoption. This can include value articulation, product positioning, architecture & sizing discussions, and patterns and practices common within the industry.

You will need to anchor all the technical aspects of the sales process — including qualification, solution design and when necessary proof exercises to validate the solution through presentations, custom demonstrations, or and Proofs of Concept and pilots.

Previous experience with search software, machine learning, data analytics, Hadoop, Spark and/or BI is required, along with 5+ years of experience in a pre-sales engineering role in one or more of these fields. Knowledge of Solr is a major plus.

Duties and Responsibilities
Our Sales Engineers work very closely with our outside sales organization and will often be the first interaction customers have with our technology team. Making strong, positive first impressions and providing insight and consultative guidance are paramount duties that only begin to describe the variety of skills applicable to the position. This is a challenging, entrepreneurial role where your soft skills and technical skills will both be critical to your success. Required Experience and Skills
B.S. or higher in Computer Science or related field
5+ years as a Sales Engineer
Outstanding listening skills
Experience delivering technical presentations & product demonstrations
Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly
Ability to communicate business impact & value
General knowledge of machine learning concepts & algorithms
Comfort working with both Linux and Windows Server
Knowledge of Apache Solr is a major plus
Ability to read/modify scripts or simple code, Python, Scala, JavaScript, BASH, and Windows PowerShell
