On Monday, October 7th at 7:00 PM in Chicago, Illinois, Lucene/Solr committer Chris (Hoss) Hostetter will be on hand to lead a discussion about anything and everything you ever wanted to know about Solr.  Register Now!

  • Brief introduction to Solr (as needed)
  • Andy Lester is a Perl programmer who has spent the last year transforming a core B2B web app from using Oracle Text for keyword searching to Solr. He’ll talk a bit about the challenges he’s had and the lessons he’s learned along the way.
  • Hoss will give a short presentation on topics chosen by the group. Seriously. Post a comment when you RSVP describing what aspect(s) of Solr you’d most like to learn about and Hoss will do his best to tailor a talk around those requests.
  • Discussion / Q&A – Share your own experiences using Solr and/or ask all the questions you’ve ever wanted to ask. Hoss has promised to stick around giving out the best answer he can until everyone gets bored, or building security kicks us out  whichever comes first.
