Thanks to all of you who responded to the Solr/Lucene Community Straw Poll Survey, and entered for a chance to win an iPad.

New Survey Question:  What is the primary (more than 50% of documents) source of documents for your search application(s)?”

The first week’s survey results are in! We collected responses from 60 members of the community (who are mostly more likely to win an iPad than those of you who didn’t!). They responded to the following questions:

First question: “As a programmer, what environment/languages are you currently using — including, but not limited to your search application work?”

Here, the preferences were strongly weighted to Java, where over 75% of the respondents said that Java figured in their search applications.
