This week, we’ll demonstrate how to build a custom Lucidworks Enterprise custom search client using PHP. This client will connect to Lucidworks Enterprise, and will present facet results graphically, along with the statistics data, using charts and graphs library, allowing us to build a dashboard to present intuitive data as part of our search results.

With the 2010-2011 NFL season at its peak, we’ll show how you can use open source search to crawl yard by yard through 2600+ NFL games — and build a dashboard to present intuitive data as part of our search results.

What does the data tell us about who moved the ball, when to punt or not to punt, and how points got on the board? Take out your beer, chips, and dip, relax of front of your big screen — and then join us for Scoring with Open Source Search.

Technical topics include:

  • Use the statistics capabilities of Solr, to see how to search for data like
    individual player performance
  • Show Lucidworks Enterprise results in a PHP client
  • Use free graph library to visually enhance our presentation
