Méaraímis an Amadán (Stump the Chump) @ Lucene/Solr Revolution EU 2013

I’ve just received the official word: This coming November I’ll be bringing Stump The Chump to Dublin, Ireland for Lucene/Solr Revolution EU 2013.

If you are not familiar with “Stump the Chump” it’s a Q&A style session where “The Chump” (usually me – Dublin will be no exception) is put on the spot with tough, challenging, unusual questions about Lucene & Solr – live, on stage, in front of hundreds of rambunctious convention goers, with judges who have all seen and thought about the questions in advance and get to mock The Chump (still me) and award prizes to people whose questions do the best job of “Stumping The Chump”.

People have told me it’s the most fun they’ve ever had at a Tech Conference — You can judge for yourself by checking out the videos from past events like Lucene/Solr Revolution 2013 in San Diego, CA and Lucene EuroCon 2012 @ ApacheCon EU in Sinsheim, Germany.

I’ll be posting more details as we get closer to the conference, but until then you can subscribe to this blog (or just the “Chump” tag) to stay informed.

And don’t forget: the Call For Papers is currently open, but ends August 2, 2013 — only one week to go — so submit your session proposals ASAP.
