About the Lucidworks Connector Awards

The Connector Awards program recognizes innovative leaders who leverage Lucidworks Fusion to create personalized, connected experiences for their customers and employees. At Lucidworks, we believe in honoring innovators who solve modern enterprise challenges that come from the proliferation of data and interaction channels. These innovators connect users with information across channels and data silos to uncover insights, augment our human intelligence and help inform the next best action. Last year’s Connector Awards winners were Pankaj Andhale from Nordstrom Rack | Hautelook and Viren Patel from PwC, as seen here.

We are excited to open nominations for the second annual Connector Awards and to recognize those driving powerful digital experiences on Aug. 11th, 2020. Finalists selected from those nominees will share their story with a panel of industry experts, be featured in a Lucidworks blog post, and receive a free pass to a Lucidworks training course. Connector Award winners will be featured in a story about their success and have the chance to meet 1:1 with a top-tier industry analyst to discuss market trends and ask an industry expert their own questions about the future of search and artificial intelligence (or anything else).

Award Categories

This year’s Connector Award categories will focus on challenges that arise when adapting to a complete digital environment.

Personalization Connector

The Personalized Connector recognizes innovators who personalize search results or workflows across channels based on user behavior and/or demographic information.

Knowledge Management Connector

The Knowledge Management Connector recognizes innovators who eliminate information silos to make data accessible for knowledge workers.

Nominations Are Open

The Connector Award nomination criteria are simple; nominees must be a Lucidworks customer and be willing to publicly share their story about delivering connected experiences. Submitters can nominate themselves, a peer, a customer, or a partner via the nomination form below by June 22nd, 2020. Finalists will be notified after June 30th, 2020. 2019 Winners

Last year, we launched our inaugural Connector Awards at ACTIVATE, the Search and AI Conference, in Washington, D.C. We presented one award for a Digital Commerce Connector and one for a Digital Workplace Connector. We are proud to share our winners from last year, Viren Patel of PwC and Pankaj Andhale of Nordstromrack.com.

2019 Workplace Connector

Viren Patel, PwC

Viren Patel was awarded the 2019 Workplace Connector award for leading his team in providing access to data in various enterprise content sources — including email, cloud storage files, and data lake content — to empower employee and client experiences. Fusion is applied to PwC’s firm-wide enterprise search application to connect 55,000 knowledge workers to the right people, companies, and key documents to help them deliver valuable projects for their clients.

Patel’s team leverages Fusion’s advanced natural language processing and deep learning capabilities to improve the precision and accuracy of search results. With Fusion, PwC’s global workforce has access to a 360-degree view of their customers — uncovering relationships and connections of past work to current projects. Fusion delivers personalized client experiences and increases productivity of consultants and advisors.

2019 Commerce Connector

Pankaj Andhale, Nordstrom Rack | Hautelook

Pankaj Andhale was awarded the 2019 Commerce Connector award for leading transformational accomplishments in personalization and customer experience. Andhale and his team use Fusion to power search on their eCommerce websites (NordstromRack.com and Hautelook.com) and integrate data science models to drive personalization.

Andale’s team uses Fusion’s capabilities – such as synonym detection, signals, and analytics – in leveraging customer behavior to deliver relevant results and recommendations. Andhale’s team also uses Fusion to accelerate the velocity of data science. Fusion’s integration with popular machine learning tools allows data scientists to import custom models and experiment in a production environment without wasting time porting and refreshing data.
With Fusion, Andhale and his team can innovate faster. They were successful in almost doubling site search conversion rates within a year of implementing Fusion and plan to increase those numbers further as relevance and personalization continue to evolve.
