Search Experts from LinkedIn, bitly, and the Lucene/Solr Project Management Committee to Address World’s Largest Gathering of Lucene/Solr Technologists

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., March 21, 2013 – LucidWorks, the company transforming the way people access information, today announced that leaders from Linkedin, bitly and the Lucene/Solr Project Management Committee (PMC) will keynote the fourth annual Lucene/Solr Revolution Conference. The event will take place April 29 – May 2, 2013 at The Westin in San Diego, California. As the world’s largest gathering of Lucene/Solr innovators, the conference helps set the agenda for breakthrough uses of search. Unprecedented attendance is anticipated, reflecting the ever-accelerating adoption of Lucene/Solr.

Lucene/Solr Revolution provides a range of opportunities for attendees to interact with many of the most distinguished and innovative developers and IT leaders who have collectively created some of the most advanced techniques in enterprise search. Paul Doscher, CEO of LucidWorks, will kick the event off on May 1 followed by Hilary Mason, Chief Scientist at bitly. Mason will address the challenges and the rewards of working with Big Data, with a special focus on machine learning. On May 2, Peter Skomoroch, Principal Data Scientist at LinkedIn, will discuss the critical role search plays in building next gen products that understand reputation and relevance. Steve Rowe, Lucene/Solr Committer and PMC Chair, and Yonik Seeley, Lucene/Solr Committer, PMC member and co-founder of LucidWorks, will give attendees a preview of Lucene/Solr’s trail-blazing roadmap.

By popular demand, and to accommodate the high volume of quality submissions for speaking slots, there are now more opportunities for attendees to hear from experts and collaborate on cutting edge topics. This year’s event will feature more case studies and technical deep dive sessions, where community members can learn from peers. Attendees will also get to meet in smaller groups to discuss their Solr ideas and interesting topics during new “Birds of a Feather” luncheon sessions.

“Thousands of Lucene/Solr developers worldwide already know that open source search will eclipse other technologies as the safe yet state-of-the art way to access information and sharpen their competitive edge. Lucene/Solr Revolution brings together a cross section of the greatest minds in the field to set the agenda for open source search innovation, packing years of expertise and networking into four action-filled days.”
